In the heart of Chelsea, A+I worked on an adaptive reuse project that reconfigured this once-horse-stable-turned-parking-garage into an office destination for creative industries. A+I designed a four-floor glass addition that maximized both the property’s rentable square footage and views to the surrounding neighborhood.

By adding an overbuild and removing existing floor area to create voluminous lower floors, the repositioning made way for expansive floor-to-ceiling heights and city views.

Moreover, the four floors of the overbuild were designed with cascading terraces, each floor with its own outdoor space with unique orientations. The new and modern language of the facade above is articulated in a vertical band brought down to the street level, designed to connect the overbuild with the original architecture.
