New Workplace Designed by A+I Wins Interior Design Best of Year Award

Integrated architecture, strategy, and experience design firm A+I (Architecture Plus Information) today announced their design for a new Financial Services Firm headquarters received the 2019 Best of Year award in the Large Corporate Office category from Interior Design. This is the fourth time the firm has won the prize in seven years,  previously receiving the accolade for Hain Celestial (2013), iHeart Media (2015), and Squarespace’s New York HQ (2016).

Located in a new tower within Manhattan’s Hudson Yards neighborhood, the financial services firm office is the result of an extended engagement with the client that created a 260,000 square foot headquarters used by over 850 employees spread across eight working floors. Linked by a central amenity floor that includes a 360-degree wraparound terrace, the design satisfies the CEO’s request to design a space in which employees can “get out in the world.”

“It feels amazing to have your peers recognize and reward what we were able to accomplish in the space. Working closely with a trusting client from an early strategic engagement through brand and experience design, we really crafted a workplace that goes beyond simple box-checking,” principal-in-charge Sommer Schauer commented.

The 2019 Best of Year Awards also honored A+I’s suite of amenity spaces in Manhattan’s Hudson Square neighborhood. They were jointly identified as finalists in the Commercial Lobby/Amenity Space category.

“Receiving this honor in the large office category for the fourth time in the 2010s caps an amazing decade for A+I as we’ve been shown to the world that workplace is one of the most important places in which people experience space. Design that right and you’re doing good by both your employees and your business.,” A+I co-founder Brad Zizmor shared.  “I couldn’t be prouder of our firm.”
